Family Volunteer and Outreach Opportunities

There are a number of ways for parents and families to become involved with UC San Diego.

Parent Leadership Council

The Parent Leadership Council is a new opportunity for parents and families of currently enrolled students to serve as ambassadors for the university and parent communities, and to philanthropically support student experiences.

When you join the council, you set an example for parents to make a difference to accomplish a vital goal: creating the best possible experience for all students. You are provided exclusive opportunities to engage with university leaders and establish relationships throughout the UC San Diego community. You advocate on behalf of the university by interacting with other parents, encouraging financial support for the Parents Fund.

With an annual contribution of $5,000 or more, your gift to the Parents Fund ensures enriching programs that nurture responsible global citizenship and develop fundamental skills. Your support is also recognized through Chancellor’s Associates, UC San Diego’s premier philanthropic society.

Triton Parent and Family Ambassador Program

Volunteers are committed to enhancing the university experience for students and families, and represent the university at various outreach programs and events. Members set an example for all Triton Parents, and therefore we encourage all members to participate in the Parent and Family Giving Program. There is no set giving level; we encourage a gift commensurate to the family’s resources, and when possible, at the $2,500 and above Chancellor’s Associates level.

Volunteers for Campus Events

Parent and family volunteers are needed for campus events for prospective students and new admits, including Admit Day and Transfer Admit Day, Summer Orientation and Family Weekend.
